Founded in 1937 as Gilpin Ironworks by brothers Hubert and Forrest Gilpin, the company fabricated and installed custom railings in northeast Indiana. In the 1960s it abandoned the installation side of the business, and was incorporated by Hubert and his son Max in Decatur Indiana as Gilpin Ironworks. Consequently manufacturing ornamental iron railings and steel fence became its only business. Gilpin Ironworks was first, and continues, to offer packaged ornamental iron railings to the retail market at affordable prices. In 2005, Gilpin Ironworks acquired the assets of Kingsford Products, a respected manufacturer of aluminum and steel products. Adding aluminum railing and aluminum fence to the company’s product line made us a complete supplier of metal ornamental railing and fence products, operating under the identity Gilpin Inc. Gilpin Inc. became Gilpin Products, LLC in 2018 when it was purchased by its present owner and President Jed Morris.
